Hearing & Balance Disorders
Hearing disorders can be divided into problems of the outer ear (ear canal), middle ear (space behind the eardrum), and inner ear (nerve connecting middle ear to brain). Our Audiology Program employs the latest equipment and testing devices in order to obtain precise measurements of hearing and inner ear nerve conduction. We have highly trained audiologists evaluating patients of all ages every day on our premises.

Balance Disorders are more complex because balance is the product of inputs from the inner ear balance center (labyrinth), eyes, skin, muscle, joint receptors, and central nervous system. A wide variety of inner ear disorders may be partly or fully responsible for one's sensation of dizziness or dysequilibrium. Our Balance Disorders Division combines state-of-the-art vestibular testing with up-to-date treatment options. Our experts conduct specialized tests called VENG (videoelectronystagmography). This study to evaluate inner ear balance function is performed everyday at both our Sheepshead Bay and Bay Ridge locations.

Drs. Kanhaiyalal, Sanjay, and Manoj Kantu maintain an outstanding reputation for their care in patients with hearing and balance disorders. All 3 doctors are expert in the care of children and adults suffering from routine ear infections to more advanced disease states.

As the senior partner at our Center, Dr. K. Kantu has been successfully performing all types of ear surgery for over 35 years. Your doctors take the time to carefully examine the problem, perform necessary tests, and discuss the diagnosis and all treatment options so that your individualized plan of care is right for you.
